  • #EmpathyDay - Read stories. Build empathy. Make a better world.

    Tue 09 Jun 2020
Empathy Day was founded in 2017 by not-for-profit EmpathyLab, who are on a mission to inspire the rising generation to drive a new empathy movement.

Empathy is a vital human force which has come into sharp focus during the pandemic. Right now, we’ve never needed it more.

The good news is that it’s a skill you can learn, and Empathy Day on June 9 aims to help everyone understand and experience its transformational power. It looks forward to a future society in which empathy is much more central.

The day focuses on using books to step into someone else’s shoes. Scientists say that we can train our brain with stories – the more you empathise with characters, the more you understand other people’s feelings.

On 9 June we'll be running brilliant online events and fun home-based activities to help children read, connect and act using empathy. Authors, illustrators, schools, libraries, and families across the UK will be taking part and we'd love for you to join in!

  • IMPORTANT: Parent Questionnaire

    Fri 05 Jun 2020

The Swansea Local Authority have created a questionnaire in preparation for children returning to school on June 29th 2020.

Please click HERE to complete this questionnaire.
We also ask that you please send a Dojo message to the class teacher so that we can get an idea of the number of responses from our school. The questionnaire answer go directly to the Local Authority.

The deadline for all questionnaires is Wednesday June 10th 2020. This is to give schools as much time as possible to make appropriate preparations to ensure they open in accordance to current safety policies.

Thank you for your cooperation with this as well as through all the adjustments we have had to make during the outbreak. We hope to see many of the children return on June 29th.

Just a short statement from Mr Brown following today's news from Kirsty Williams (Education Secretary in Wales).

As you have probably seen the Welsh Government have announced that all children can return to school on Mon 29th June. Kirsty Williams also stated that this will be in a staggered way with about 1/3 of the children in at one time. We will now work out the details of this and let you know as soon as possible.

Please also click here to see the Local Authority's FAQ section about the reopening of schools which may help with some of your thoughts and queries.

A final note that if you have not completed your Parent Questionnaire (deadline is 10th June) regarding returning to school on June 29th, then please click here for details of how to do that. Please also send a Dojo message to your teacher once you have completed this.
