  • Royal Wedding Party and The Wave

    Wed 23 May 2018

We had a great time celebrating the Royal Wedding last week. The PTFA provided a special royal cupcake for each child. Surprisingly, Harry and Meghan held their wedding rehearsal with Mr Brown unofficially marrying the couple! It was after this rehearsal that the couple realised Mr Wolsey's car was not their best option and opted for a horse and carriage for the big day.

We also had some special guests including Claire from The Wave radio station's Breakfast Show. You can see the photos that Claire took on their website here

Thank you to the whole school community for raising this amazing amount.

  • Douglas Thomas Attendance Award

    Tue 01 May 2018

On Thursday 29th March, Clwyd Community Primary School recognised the sixth pupil for their outstanding achievement in attendance. School governor Douglas Thomas arrived to the school assembly to present the award that he has sponsored since 2016. While most of the previous winners were awarded for excellent attendance over a number of years, the award this time would go to a pupil who had kept attendance their priority while going through a challenging time in their life.

Logan Keeping is a Year 2 pupil in Clwyd’s Specialist Training Facility class. Logan had a particular condition that required multiple hospital appointments as well as an operation with recovery time. His grandmother, who he lives with, ensured that Logan only missed school time which was absolutely necessary and Logan was eager to return as soon as possible after the operation.

Logan was proud to be awarded at the assembly which was also attendance by parents as it was the Easter Bonnet parade.

  • School Attendance

    Tue 01 May 2018

Just a short message to remind all parents and pupils to really prioritize attendance over the coming weeks.

We have the national tests taking place from 2nd to the 9th May which are important for all pupils to complete.

Beyond that, we will also be giving out certificates and pin badges for those who achieved 95% and above this year for attendance. The badges are split into bronze, silver and gold. These will be awarded by the Attendance Governor towards the end of the Summer term so aim to maximize your attendance this term!

Thank you for your support in raising school attendance. If everyone makes an effort to come in to school every day then we may even reach our school target of 94%! We are very close to it already at 93.8%.

If you have any queries, please see Mr Kidwell in the school office.

    Diolch!
