Welcome to Mrs Shaw's Reception / Year 1 class page!

We are very excited for the academic year a head.  The team working in Reception / Year 1 this year is:

Mrs Shaw, Mrs Griffiths, Miss Lewis (Monday - Wednesday) and Miss Hill (Thursday & Friday)

Our topic for the Autumn Term is

Me and My World.

In our topic we will explore what is important to us and the people around us. We will think about what it means to belong and how family, friends and community make us feel part of something special.  We will explore how life has changed over time and make meaningful links to real-life experiences wherever possible.

It’s set to be an exciting and busy term!

School day: 8.50am – 3.00pm. Doors open 8.40

Uniform: There is an expectation that children wear school uniform. Royal blue jumper, white or yellow polo shirt and black trousers / joggers / leggings.

Fruit: £1 a week or bring your own fruit daily.

Lunch: The children can either have school dinners or a packed lunch. ALL children are entitled to a free school meal. The termly menus can be found on the Swansea council webpage.

PE: Wednesday is our PE day. They will need to come into school dressed suitably for PE. Black joggers/leggings and trainers. 

Dojo: I will use dojo as a means of communication. You can let me know via dojo if your child is going to be off school for any reason.

Wellies: Please could your child bring a pair of wellies into school. These will stay in school.

Clothing: Please label all uniform, coats, bags and shoes!
