Dear Parents/Guardians,
Mr Ellis' Retirement
As some of you will know, our long serving Deputy Headteacher, Mr Ellis will be retiring from Clwyd in July. Mr Ellis has served the school for 21 years as Deputy Head since 2005. I would like to thank him for his work at Clwyd over that time and also the 33 years he has given to education in Swansea. We all wish him a great retirement where I'm sure he will turn his talents to many other things. We will look to give Mr Ellis an appropriate send off in July to celebrate his time at the school. Thank you and good luck to Mr Ellis!
Clwyd Community Primary School - A 'Flagship' Community School
Excellent news! We have been recognised by the Local Authority and beyond as a 'Flagship' community school. This is recognition for the amount of work the school does with the community. We will continue to involve the parents, community and other stakeholders in the work of the school.
Last week, had 17 visitors from schools in the USA to celebrate the work being done. Well done to all involved!
Fund Raising
Can I publicly thank all the parents involved with fund raising efforts. In addition to our hard working PTFA we have recently had a number of parents who have decided, without being asked, to raise money for our school. This is very much appreciated and all the money raised will go directly into items and equipment for the children. Thank you everyone!
Safety
Every newsletter I remind everyone about keeping the children safe. Some reminders:
- Gates close 8.40-9.00am and 2.55-3.15pm. No movement of cars on site at these times. PLEASE TAKE EXTRA CARE IF DROPPING OFF AT BREAKFAST CLUB. There is a strict 5mph speed limit in the car park.
- Don't park on both sets of yellow zig zags. The ones closer to Conway Road have recently had some problems. Do not park or stop on them please!
- Internet Safety, a reminder to keep an eye on your child's online activity. Please ask for support if needed.
